Emilio Davalos

​Born and raised in Richmond, California, Emilio has always been immersed in a vibrant creative community, surrounded by world-class artists and cultural innovators. His musical journey began at age 7 when he started playing the drums and his passion for the arts has only intensified since then. In 2024 Emilio released his debut EP of original, self-produced music, “Just Me,” in which he blends his many influences into a sound that is distinctly his own. 

 

Emilio earned a BA in Jazz Performance from San Francisco State University, where he led the percussion section in the Afro-Cuban ensemble under the direction of Dr. John Calloway. Over the years, Emilio has built a thriving and diverse career in the Bay Area, performing and recording with artists such as Edgardo Cambón, Soltrón, John Calloway, Christelle Durandy, and many more. He has shared music with audiences throughout the west coast as well as in Europe and Mexico. 

 

As an educator, Emilio brings his expertise to students of all ages and skill levels, whether in private lessons or group settings, inspiring the next generation of musicians and artists.
